They are lighter which improves fuel efficiency, deep snow performance, and simplifies the removal and installation of the tracks. The tracks are also more durable since the tire guides are reinforced rubber, rather than metal, which reduces by 50% the wear and tear of the rubber bogey wheel sidewalls.
